I’ll share some more photos taken at the gorgeous resort we stay at in Ubud over the next few weeks, but for now, some pics from their fabulous gardens…just because it’s Sunday afternoon and I feel like it. Besides, they’re too pretty not to share.
I have no idea what these orange stalkey flowers are, but they are everywhere and frame the rice paddies beautifully. How obliging was the butterfly?
I’m not sure if these are some form of orchid- they look like they could be. In any case, these gorgeous white flowers hang down from the bridge and drape around some of the other water features. These ones still have drops from the previous nights’ rain clinging to their petals.
These delicately purple blooms also grow over the bridge.
One morning I watched as the biggest bee I’ve ever seen settled into the centre of one. Apologies for the blurring.
Of course there are waterlillies- different ones out each day.
As beautiful as the lilies are, the flowers I’d search for each morning would be the lotus. They are simply, beautifully, spectacular.
Naturally, there are frangipanis. Everywhere. These ones were lying on the ground near the pool.
At Wapa many of the herbs and vegetables used in the restaurant come from the kitchen garden.
Even the bananas.
And everywhere is the rice.
