And, that’s a wrap…

I’ve just finished scheduling posts on the astro site out to the end of October- including a couple advertising astro diaries I contributed to for 2017. When did that happen?

Then I sat down and looked at my diary for the rest of the year. Not a great idea.

Between now and the end of November, I’m away for 5 weekends. Then it’s December. As I said before- when did that happen?

Anyways, this round-up post is about closing off the week and taking stock- not stressing about tomorrow…so here goes…

Where I rambled…

Up Windsor Rd. Literally. Tomorrow it will be exactly 5 weeks until I tackle Milford Track- and I can’t wait. As boring as the walk was, it ticked the boxes that needed to be ticked and left me the afternoon for a de-greying session at the hairdressers, some procrastibaking and some more proof-reading.

What I’m working on…

I’ve finished the first pass proof-read for Wish You Were Here, but will give it another. I’m moving into the whole self-doubt it’s not good enough territory, but have to trust that it’s the best book that I could have written at this time and release it into the virtual world. I’m also working on the acknowledgements- hence the procrastibaking.

What I baked…

Salted caramel chocolate brownies. Yes, these contain air-borne calories. I haven’t tried them myself, but Miss T assures me that I’ve finally atoned for the sin that was Nigella’s nutella brownies.

What I also cooked…

This fabulously sunny, yellow and tamarind-tangy Keralan Fish Curry. It’s super-easy, but is best if the sauce is done well ahead, and the fish dropped in just before you’re ready to eat. We like it spicy, so drop in and extra couple of little scud chillies as well.

What I blogged…

A sneaky extract from Wish You Were Here and an answer to the question I’m asked most by people: Am I in it? Both on the author blog.

Where I played…

checking for eels…

Ok, not me so much as Kali, Adventure Spaniel. Three families, three dogs, bbq brunch at Fagan Park. Perfect- and just a few minutes down the road. I’ll tell you about it next time.

Where I lunched…

Fedra Olive Groves
Fedra Olive Groves

We did a flying day trip to Canberra to see the hubster’s mother on Friday, so lunch was at Belconnen Labour Club.

Aside from catching Mrs T up on all our news, it was a good excuse to stock up on olive oil from Fedra Olive Grove- on the Federal Highway near Collector.

Where I indulged my craving…

Despite yum cha at the local RSL last Monday, I’ve been craving soupy dumplings (xiao long bao) and shallot pancakes- and that meant a trip across to Eastwood today.

Craving satisfied.

Apologies for the chilli oil on the xiao long bao...Mr T did it...

What I’m reading…

This is going to sound seriously naff, but as well as proofing Wish You Were Here, I’m re-reading Baby, It’s You. Why? Because I’m writing I Want You Back, and it’s a sort of sequel at the same time to Baby, It’s You, so I have to make sure my character names and timing are right. One of these days I’ll get organised and pop this sort of stuff in a spreadsheet.

What’s in my garden…

There are teeny tiny tomatoes, and teeny tiny peas starting to fill up.

And another yellow rose.

What I’m looking forward to…

Mollymook with the hubster next weekend. We used to spend a lot of time down there when we were living in Canberra and were newly dating, so it’s a tad nostalgic and also a good excuse to eat at Rick Stein’s at Bannisters…I’ll tell you all about it next week!

How was your week?
