Taking Stock – June

I wasn’t going to do one of these this month, but given that I haven’t done a wrap-up for the week, and because Jetstar have just delayed my flight home by 2 hours, I’m joining in…of sorts…

Marvelling – at how much I managed to eat this last weekend.

Deciding – that I really need to properly diet

Thinking – that I hate the word “diet”

Knowing – that diets don’t work

Grateful – for a fabulous weekend with my 19 year old daughter and the fact that we still manage an annual weekend away together, but

Missing – hubby and Adventure Spaniel.

Laughing – still from yesterday’s theatre outing. The Book of Mormon was flipping hilarious.

Enjoying – the wintry chill in the air here in Melbourne and

Wearing – my favourite winter scarf and fluffy vest, but

Loving – winter in Queensland.

Drafting – some Melbourne posts

Writing – feverishly to complete the rewrite for I Want You Back

Relieved – that the bed we ordered back in the middle of March finally arrived last week.

Amazed – that hubby and I dismantled 2 beds, and assembled 2 beds, and moved furniture around without arguing.

Waiting – in the lobby of our Melbourne hotel

Wondering – why I bothered to save a few dollars by flying Jetstar to Brisbane rather than Qantas.

Confused – why Jetstar makes the cost of flying into Sunshine Coast from Melbourne almost $150 per ticket more expensive than flying back into Brisbane and

Annoyed – that this means we’ll now be having to battle peak hour traffic back from Brisbane this evening all because I was trying to save money.

Hoping – that this week at work is better than last week was.

Looking forward – to so much in July.

Beginning – to feel apprehensive about my presentation at RWA in August, and

Excited – about the opportunity I’ve been given.

Linking up with Denyse Whelan on Life This Week.

  1. Sorry to hear about your flight delay, but at least you’re putting the time to good use! 🙂

Also sorry to hear last week at work was a bit blah. This is my 2day week so I’m stoked. Plus I’m doing Mon & Weds so it’ll be weirder than usual.

I’ve been a bit unhealthy lately on the white-chocolate front. I don’t know what Caramello Koalas did to lose their place in my heart, but I’ve fallen in love with white chocolate. I had some boring old Cadbury Dream and then my mum (who’s visiting) brought white Lindt. I cannot decide which I liked best so had to have A LOT of each last night.

And I’m with you on the diet front. The only thing worrying me at the moment is the return visit to my surgeon and worrying what he’ll think. And my GP who’s still weighing me monthly. (Sigh)

    1. I know I should be grateful for working from home etc etc, but, well, some weeks are like that I suppose!

  2. I’m with you on your first 4 points… I’m eating a container of Pringles as we speak. I SO want to see The Book Of Mormon. Hopefully I’ll get there before the run ends. I hope the traffic isn’t as bad as usual!

  3. Well I know for sure that diets do not work and have paid far too much money to other people to learn that. One thing I know now after losing a lot of weight in 3 years without trying is that I was probably eating far too much for comfort for the decades I overate…and then when stress took over (I cant eat when I am anxious) it fell off me…and I learned that with IBS small & plain quantities sat well inside and that’s kind of the way it happened for me. I too agree that sometimes we cut off our noses despite our face to save that bit of money here and there when we inconvenience ourselves as you have with your return flight. sigh. Congrats on the exciting news… Thank you linking up….and I shall be back!! Denyse xx

  4. I don’t know how much time I have spent in airports over the years! As for dieting don’t even get me started!! Good luck with finishing your book.
