That’s a wrap…

I hit a bit of a wall during the week. I’d been out too much, eaten too much food – especially too much dude food – and drunk too much wine and beer. I was tired of getting up at 5am to write, tired of walking to the bus in the dark, tired of the commute, tired of standing up the whole way home, tired of seeing boxes, tired of my brain keeping me up at night as I wrangled the logistics of the move. Just tired.

I think it’s like the closer you get to a long-awaited holiday, the more sensitive you are to minor things that blow up in the office. I think it’s a tad like that.

That’s how last week was – then I flew up here yesterday for the weekend. Here is the unit at Alexandra Headland (Alex) that we’ve rented for hubby and daughter while we’re waiting to settle on our forever house. It’s fabulous to be by the sea, it’s fabulous to be out of Sydney and away from boxes – but mostly it’s fabulous to be with my family. It’s only been 2 ½ weeks, but it feels like longer.

Anyways. Without further ado, let’s wrap up the week.

Where I lunched…

Meze Me at Annangrove with some friends. It was a catch-up, farewell and early birthday thingie all in one – and a reminder to me of how lucky I am to have people in my life that I’m so sad to say farewell (for now) to.

Where I also lunched…

After a morning of house stuff and furniture shopping today, we called in at The Deck at Mooloolaba Spit for fresh local prawns and the best crumbed calamari you’re likely to get.

Where I walked…

Yes, I managed a few walks this week and will finish the week with more steps on my fitbit than I’ve recorded in any week all year.

This early morning walk on the beach at Alex is exactly why we’re moving up this way. Sure, we’ll be about 10minutes from Mooloolaba, but what better motivation to get up and moving. Vitamin Sea.

What I wrote…

The usual astro weather posts on the astro page, something about why indie authors need a marketing strategy on the author page; and a recipe for Kra Pow Chicken, and some reasons why I love airports on this site.

Words I loved…

These ones on the wall of The Attic – a coffee shop in Alex.

A sign I loved…

This one on a Thai restaurant in Buderim Village. The happiest Thai chefs on planet earth? Big call…

What I instamarked…

Ocean inspo this week – with lots of turtles…

How was your week?

  1. It’s no wonder you’ve hit a wall, you have SO much going on. So many changes etc… I noted you said somewhere you move in 2wks. Are you finishing work then or will you do some remotely?

It’s very exciting for you all.

  2. Yeah, the truck comes for everything on the 22nd & I go up on the 23rd. I’ll still be working a few days a week on a casual remote basis.
