What’s on your bookshelf?

On Friday, August 20 I’ll be joining in with my friends Sue, Deb and Donna to launch “What’s On Your Bookshelf?” a monthly feast of all things book related.

We’d love you to join us and share your monthly reads, favourite books, or review a recent read. It can be fiction, non-fiction, cookbook, memoir, self-help, armchair travel, whatever – it’s your call. The goal is to keep it simple and inspire others with your recommendations.

The series will be live on the third Friday of each month (that means the third Thursday if you’re joining us from the northern hemisphere).

If you’re linking up a blog post you can do so in the comments. Alternatively, you might want to get involved via Instagram or your social media of choice. Whichever way you choose to share, don’t forget to leave a note in the comments so we can find you. We even have a hashtag you can use #whatsonyourbookshelfchallenge.

Donna, Deb, Sue and I are looking forward to you joining us – and to adding your recommendations to our ever-growing TBR piles!

If you have any questions, reach out in the comments. In the meantime, I’m currently reading this one for our Bronte Sisters Bookclub. I’m up to chapter 12 and now have to restrain myself from reading further until we’ve had a chance to discuss these chapters. The struggle is real.

  1. This is going to be great fun Jo, I’m happy to be involved and looking at how many books will be added to my ‘want to read’ list.

  2. The struggle IS real! I’ve read up to Chapter 12 as well. I had to physically put my book in our upstairs guest room so that I didn’t ‘accidentally’ read an extra chapter (or seven) ahead of time. 😀
I love your feature photo and graphics. Looks awesome!

  3. Oh this sounds so fun! I love learning about new to me books and getting other people’s opinions on books.

  4. Nice to see you girls encouraging the readers amongst us to share the love – who knows what new books we’ll discover? (just so long as it’s not another Hamnet disaster!)

  5. What a great idea! I look forward to sharing my book title suggestions, and reading those of others. Now I’m off to find a copy of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

  6. Hi Jo – I’m so looking forward to this … it’s an excellent idea – and what fun for us to be stimulated via others’ reading … so pleased – great – and I’ll see you there … cheers Hilary

  7. Anxious to check out your collective bookshelves for ideas and suggestions for the book club. I am currently balancing (very poorly) about 4 books…let’s see…one about being socially anxious, a graphic novel with my granddaughter, a book about 9-11, The Personal Librarian and just started Between Two Kingdoms.
