Flame Hill Vineyard is located in the hills behind Montville in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and a short drive from pretty much anywhere on the Sunshine Coast.
The flame trees are the first things you notice as you drive down the hill to the winery. We make a mental note to come back in summer when they’re in fiery bloom.
We’re here for lunch and I’m torn between a number of things on the menu.
In the end we decide to keep things easy by choosing the charcuterie platter for two with, of course, a glass of red.
Flame Hill pride themselves with being a true paddock to plate style experience and source as many ingredients as they can from their own farm, their kitchen garden and local South EastQueensland producers.
After lunch, we take a wander down to the grapevines, check out the kitchen garden – and chat to the chooks. #asyoudo

I’m linking up with Becky this month for her tree squares challenge where we post photos of trees, any trees, in square format. You’ll find Becky’s most recent post here. Oh, and given that I’m pretty much posting daily and you’ll probably get bored with pictures of trees in square formats, feel free to skim on by – I won’t be offended. You’ll find other trees in the series here.
I am captivated by your lunch and the chooks!
Are those menu prices typical for restaurants in that area?
The prices for their specials are at the high end, yet their burgers etc are reasonable…
That looks like a lovely day out!
