Printemps

Here in South-Eastern Queensland we don’t really get autumn and spring and we don’t get blossoms and bulb flowers – you need a colder winter for that! So one of the things I was really looking forward to with our road trip was spring flowers – and they certainly didn’t disappoint.

Blossoms

and…just because I can’t help myself…

Irises

and for something a little different…

Tulips and other bulbs

Most of these pics were taken in Lille – at the beginning of our trip.

and some token daffys…

Chateau Flowers

Wisteria

Full disclosure – I have enough pictures of wisteria and lilacs to fill multiple posts…here are just a few.

Lilacs

We had to stop for photos every time I saw it.

Just because

Yes, I happened upon some bluebells too… If you’ve read Wish You Were Here you’ll know about my fascination with bluebells.

Market Flowers

and finally…

Okay, it’s Thursday – that means lovin’life linky time. You know what to do…

  1. Lovely and those hot pink buds just waiting to burst out made me want to buy a bunch. Thanks for all the flowers and the reminder that Spring is in the air x

    1. Aaaah but you get those beautiful orchids – whose scent hangs on the air there. Thanks for dropping by, it’s lovely to meet you…virtually speaking.

  2. Having been brought up in Queensland and left Australia to live in England more than 30 years ago, I totally understand your fascination with Spring bulbs. Even now, I get so excited at the beginning of each new season and love to watch the different bulbs emerge: first snowdrops and crocus (sometimes popping their little heads up through the snow!), then daffodils, hyacinths, aliums and tulips. It’s an absolutely joyous time of year!!
