The Lobby
I like a lobby with a little glitz and glamour, but no pretension. Contradiction in terms? Not here. The over the top baroque-ness is way too much, yet somehow just enough.
The Rooms…
When my family saw the wallpaper in a Skype session, they were horrified. When I first saw it, I was overjoyed.
The rooms are lush, the beds comfortable, and the noise minimal. I had a room with a walk in ran shower that was special indeed.
The Hippos
They’re everywhere. On the building, on the room door, door handles, on the ceiling in level 3. Yes, on the ceiling. Little toy hippos stuck to the roof. Look up.
The Street Art
I have no idea if it’s been commissioned, and I don’t care.
The Carpark art
The Location
Perfect. Across the road from Te Papa, you’re not far from anywhere.

Wow – what a great place to stay.
Very impressive. Great for a short stay but I’d go crazy with so much clutter / stuff longer term.
So much ‘busyness’ I mean. My mind is frantic enough!
