Vivid Sydney…and Symphony for Beginners

photo1

So anyways, last night I accidentally went to Vivid Sydney.

Accidentally?

Yes, we were going to the Sydney Symphony’s Classical and Spectacular, and Vivid happened to be on.

I’ve been to the Opera a lot, and I slept through a performance of Swan Lake once as well (men in tights…). Somehow, though, I’ve never made it to a Symphony- and Sydney’s Symphony Orchestra is meant to be one of the best in the world.

Anyways, Vivid happened to be on.

It was impressive from our table at the Opera Bar,

and it was even more so from where I was sipping champagne at half-time on the concourse outside the Concert Hall.

The verdict?

The laser show on the Opera House was stunning- as were the light shows on the Harbour Bridge pylons, the MCA and Customs House (above)- although my photos of these are especially poor….

Of course, the light show isn’t just on around Circular Quay, there are also sites in Darling Harbour, Martin Place, Star Casino and more.

It finishes this weekend though, so check out the website for more info…and catch public transport in…

As for the Symphony?

Classical and spectacular. I’m converted.
