S is for Sunday Family Fun Days

S is for Sunday Family Fun Days…

…or the cheapest harbour cruise in town.

You see, on Sundays, your family can catch public transport anywhere in the city- that’s trains, buses or ferries, for just $2.50…all day.

Sure, there are some exceptions, eg the Captain Cook ferries, like the ones that go to Fort Denison, but as long as your group includes one adult and one child under 16, all you’ll pay will be $2.50 a person.

On a day like today, with the sky impossibly blue, the temperature high, and the harbour prompting all other sorts of superlatives, where else could you possibly be?

So, we paid our $7.50 and rode the river cat from Sydney Olympic Park into Circular Quay. We hung over the edge of the boat like kids, feeling the cool of the spray on our face, and the wind in our hair.

We had lunch in town (at Mr Wong…more on that later), did some shopping, and caught the ferry back home again.

All this for a total of $7.50…for the three of us.

In my book, that makes a ferry on Sunday the best value harbour cruise in town.

We took the rivercat, but there are heaps of routes and ferries to choose from… check out 131500.com for more details. Check out also my posts on Cockatoo Island, the (Sydney) Quiz, Watsons Bay, Manly- A Thousand Miles From Care.
