sharing the love

I should have completed this post a couple of weeks ago when Pam from Travelling Bag saw fit to bestow on me The Very Inspiring Blogger Award.

It’s an award, so I have to use award type language like “saw fit” and “bestow”. I’m not entirely sure that I deserve the honour, but honour it is, so thankyou Pam.

This blog is relatively new. It was born from a need to separate my Astro self from the part of me that likes to take photos, go places and cook stuff. See how descriptive I am? Anyways, I love that people read my words, look at my photos and share my life through this blog.

It’s this that has partly why I have delayed thanking Pam and complying with the other rules of the award- and yes, there are rules… How do I decide which bloggers I want to nominate?

So, the rules are:

  1. Display the award logo on your blog
  2. Link back to the person who nominated you (that would be you Pam…)
  3. State 7 things about yourself
  4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award and link to them
  5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the awards requirements.

So, firstly, 7 random things about me:

  1. I don’t like shopping. I make exceptions for foreign countries and Melbourne.
  2. I have this thing about crowds- and it isn’t a good thing.
  3. I used to be a rugby league referee
  4. My first job was in a Wendys Ice Creamery- I can still dip a mean choctop- there is an art to it.
  5. I gag on pumpkin and potato mashed together- actually, I even gag on pumpkin soup that hasn’t been blended properly….eeeeeeuw
  6. My dream job title would be Author/World Traveller
  7. I don’t like cake…or lollies.

And now the bloggers I’m nominating- in no particular order. Some are health and fitness bloggers, some are established bloggers, some are new bloggers, some are Astro bloggers, some are travel bloggers…but all are bloggers that I enjoy reading. I wish I could choose more!

  1. Kai Chronicles– all about food, health, travel and diet as medicine
  2. Travelling Bag– tales of an insatiable traveller. I’m loving following Pam’s countdown to the Himalayas.
  3. Diet Schmiet– it is as is says on the can- a blog about diet- or rather not dieting. Deb also has another site which is also worth a look.
  4. Pixelrites– Dianne writes about words and synchronicity. Very beautifully.
  5. The Beas Knees– healthy living, healthy relationships and more besides
  6. Gypsy Life– I’m loving following her road trip
  7. Big Words Blog– words, love, life and gin…
  8. That Space in Between– loss, grief, family and everything in between
  9. Giving Back Girl-life…with purpose.
  10. Julie Demboski’s Astrology– for Astro fans…I respect Julie’s work. A lot.
  11. Big Sky Astrology– April Elliott Kent is my go to reference for anything on eclipses- and has written a couple of damn fine books too.
  12. Lua Astrology– Leah’s blog is another of my faves
  13. Oxford Astrologer– I’ve only recently come across this one, but love Christina’s posts.
  14. Astrology Wheel– another newbie on my list, but another who looks at real life stuff. I like that.
  15. Sally Kirkman– her monthly forecasts are uncannily spot on.

Awww… Jo, I’m honoured. Funnily enough I can relate to some of your things – I hate shopping and I don’t like cake. I mean, I”ll eat cake but it’s not something I like a lot (same with biscuits!).

G’day Jo from the land down under… I am honoured that you enjoy my road trip and appreciate the award. I will have to put the award conditions on hold for a while as while traveling I often do not have access to internet, or much spare time. As soon as I am able I will acknowledge this award in a post. Thank you again

      you’re very welcome

  3. Jo, thank you so much for the nomination. I haven’t been around the past couple of days, been trying to get the new computer up to speed (or maybe that’s myself that needed a tune-up!) Anyway, this blog is beautiful, and I appreciate the nomination very much. Will be posting per the requirements on Monday my time. Thank you again! I’m so pleased you thought I was worth a nom 🙂

I love your work, so it was an easy decision 🙂

  4. Thank you so much for nominating me and apologies for taking an age to do anything about it. I have been on holiday for most of August and strictly forbidden – by my family – from “becoming a blob” for a month. In short, I haven’t been near a computer for three weeks.

I love your blogs (both of them). I’ve admired the quality of your writing for a while. I like the way you manage to combine domesticity, astrology and the big picture. And how your personal ripples out with broader implications. It must be a Pisces thing…

lots of love from soggy Oxford
